Are The BET Awards 2010 Nominations Fixed?

Yesterday via twitter @BETAwards announced the nominee's list for the 2010 BET Awards. The usual heavy hitters were nominated. Jay-Z winning at 5 nominations followed by Beyoncé, Trey Songz, Alicia Keys, and Melanie Fiona who all had 4... We, at MissDimplez.com, were surprised when we found out that Monica had only been nominated for the Viewer's Choice Awards... Per further investigation it seems as though she was intentionally shut out from certain categories, and that some of the nominations were garnered toward heavy hitters no necessarily those who we feel may be more deserving... If you take a look at Monica's success with her latest album Still Standing, (currently #1 on numerous charts), and her upcoming reality t.v. show on BET, it seems a little odd that she wasn't nominated for more. I guess we weren't the only ones with those speculations because the twitter rumor mill went bananas. People were saying they knew that the nominations were fixed, other people were saying said they didn't nominate Monica because she has a new reality show coming out...blah blah blah... Its obvious to me via her Viewer's Choice nominations that she's what the people want, regardless of what the situation is, network affiliate or not, if someone deserves to be nominated, they should be nominated... Make sure to tune into the the 10th annual BET Awards, hosted by Queen Latifah, airing live from the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles on Sunday, June 27th. Read some of the tweets below...
