A UK singer-songwriter & producer, Jahna Sebastian, has come out the wood works claiming that her daughter makes her Swizz Beatz 3rd baby mama, sorry Alicia. According a "friend" of Jahna, Swizz knows the child exists, and there's actually a paternity test that proved he's truly the father. According to that same "friend" Swizz pays $1500 a month in child support but refuses to publically acknowledge the kid; Someone tell Nas to appeal, if Swizz is paying $1500, shawty is getting robbed. Anyway, the internets were buzzing because Jhana wrote a blog titled, "I give thanks for being a producer myself so I don’t have to f*ck for tracks as if I was just a singer”... Sound like anyone we know? Well after hearing the backlash she posted a newer blog saying that it wasn't about Alicia...
It was not about Alicia Keys, stop spreading hate by taking words out of context I was very surprised to find out that some folks started assuming that there were subliminal messages in my blog posted more than a month ago. There are NO subliminal messages there. The conclusion in my post was a general statement that can apply to various artists around the world from UK, US, Russia, China, Germany etc and at any point the history of music business. It was not targeted at any particular artist especially someone who writes and produces songs for themselves and other people, where is the logic in that? It was definitely not about Alicia Keys. Any Russian person who read it could have possibly linked it to a famous Russian artist in their mind who folks in the US or other parts of the world have never heard of. I guess, people see what their eyes want to see. No need to start a beef here and spread hate by taking words out of context.
I'm starting to feel like the whole Alicia Keys and Swizz Beatz affair is like a long lost episode of Days of Our Lives.
Word on the street is that Alicia Keys refuses to lose Swizz Beatz the same way Mashonda did... Swizz and Nicki Minaj recently had a studio session, but I guess Alicia wasn't feeling the thought of her hubby alone in the lab with Nicki....
According to according to 24 Hour Hip Hop, "Insiders at the studio where Swizz and Nicki worked together say that Ms. Keys was in attendance the whole session and made her presence known. Word is that Alicia just didn’t think it was good for those two be alone and requested to be there to which her man happily obliged."
If a man is going to cheat, he will cheat... No matter how much you smother him or follow him around he will find a way to scratch the itch (emotionally or physically). It is obvious to me that Alicia is just starting to realize what she got herself into. Marrying a man who is known for his roaming promiscuous peen is just as smart as Lil Kim's plastic surgeon thinking we won't notice his hack job........ (*waits*)
This weekend at the Essence Music Festival, our favorite preggo pop-star took a tumble, not as bad as Scarlet did, while working the stage. I love Alicia, but now that she is with child, I'm going to need her to be more careful. If you moving from behind the piano is a risk WE UNDERSTAND... But then again, her performing at the BET Awards was supposed to be her last performance until after birth....... #hmmmm.
In case you missed the 2010 BET Awards, or you just feel like watching some highlights again... I've got your back. The BET Awards were definitely a step up from last year's tragedy, but there is still major room for improvement, and when I say improvement, I mean, they all gotta get their act together, tributes, transitions and all... The best performance of the night, by far, was when Chris Brown paid homage to Michael Jackson, but the others weren't bad either... Alicia Keys carries her baby weight well. Check out the videos and my commentary below...
As much as I stan for Ye' his performance at the BET Awards was forgettable... I mean, he was posing the entire time, but I still love him, and can't wait for his new album to drop in September... Check out Kanye West as he performs his new single, "Power"...
Keyshia Cole hit the stage, screeching/off-key, but it was her first appearance since she had her baby, so we'll let her slide. She looked good. B.o.B was on stage, and then there was a malfunction with the sound... The crowd was dead silent until Eminem hit the stage. Check out Eminem as he performs his new single "Not Afraid" while being backed up by a gospel choir.
Alicia Keys paraded that preganancy belly up and down that stage... I'm sure Mashonda (Swizz's ex wife) was at home trying to sleep with a broken heart as Alicia preformed "Unthinkable"
Drake and Young Jeezy take the stage and perform "Lose My Mind" the remix, with a new verse... Check it out. *sidenote* Jeezy is currently working with TAJ on his All White Everything Video, I've seen some stills, and trust me, its HOT...
Diddy, Dirty Money, Rick Ross, T.I. & Nicki Minaj, took to the stage using BET's new smoke machine... Yes, you may recognize this smoke machine from Kanye's performance, but that joint was working triple time here... *note Nicki Minaj's lipsyncing, and Dirty Money's back up dancing... I love Dawn, really I do, but the group should be called Diddy & The Folks That Stand Behind Him..."Hello. Good Morning"
Just a short while ago a very pregnant Alicia Keys performed her hit single "Try Sleeping With A Broken Heart", at the Britain's Got Talent semi-finale in which she received a standing ovation from the judges and audience. Alicia sporting a sleek black number glowed throughout her entire performance, she looks very happy to be able to finally publicly embrace her pregnancy. I'm very pleased for her, and despite the lyrics of her song one things for certain Alicia Keys is surely not sleeping with a broken heart.
No need to further speculate representatives for the couple confirmed the news Thursday night that Grammy award winner Alicia Keys and her producer boyfriend Swizz Beats are expecting their first child together ( Swizz has two children from previous marriage) . The couple have been together for some time now and news has also broke that they're engaged to be married in a small ceremony later this year. Alicia Keys is currently headlining her tour over seas , and Swizz is producing for artist such as "Beyonce" and "Jay z". A lot of you may be familiar with the story because Swizz , ex wife Mashonda wasn't so happy with Keys even blaming her for their spilt in which Swizz took to his twitter to denounce the claims. A lot of fans dismissed Keys after the story broke labeling her a home wrecker. Either way, congratulations to Alicia and Swizz for their upcoming nuptials and the baby on board.
Drake adds a verse to the hit Alicia Keys’ latest single “Un-thinkable (I’m Ready),” which he actually has some production credits of. Word on the street is that the two singers also collaborated on another song called “Fireworks,” which is set to be the first track off Drake’s Thank Me Later Album (drops June 15th).
“He’s a great guy. I’m really happy for him,” she said about Drake. “I’m really proud of all the things he’s been able to achieve.”
In other Drake related news, this video is a clip of an 8 year old drummer who totally kills a rendition of Drake's "Over"... Makes me want to pick up a drum set..
The music video was definitely garnered to be a hit... This is the third single off of Alicia Keys' The Element of Freedom. I love videos like this with an underlying message... basically this video tackles racial tensions about interracial dating. They've got Alicia falling in love with Chad Michael Murray... Directed by Jake Nava... Watch the video to find out if their love will make them victorious...
The behind the scenes for Alicia Keys' “Un-thinkable (I’m Ready)". First and foremost if you have never heard this song, or are just getting hip to it, you are LATE. Though I in particular didn't feel as though Alicia Keys last cd (The Element of Freedom) was all that, it did have a couple hits. This song was written by Drake and has garnered so much attention her people decided it needed visuals. In the video they're taking on the theme of interracial dating from the past and present. Alicia's "love interest" is Chad Michael Murray, and the video is being directed by Jake Nava.
“Alicia is a true artist and I was very pleased that she was brave enough to go with this unusual concept. Together I believe we have done something new and important,” said Nava. “I hope people are entertained by this video, but that it also makes them think. Alicia was a joy to work with. I love her music and aimed to enhance her visual impact in the marketplace.”
