♫ New Music: Do It All by Drake

The first single off of Drake's upcoming mixtape, "No More Thank Yous", dropped today. The song is called, “Do It All.” The song goes hard. Take a listen and download here.
The mixtape ["No More Thank Yous"] features a new tracked produced by Polow Da Don titled “To The Floor” featuring RichBoy & Lloyd. Two gold albums, and one is well on its way to platinum status, are the type of stats that ATF frontman Drake is boasting at the current moment. The EP of his uber-successful mixtape So Far Gone recently reached eclipsed the 500,000 sold plateau this week. Thank Me Later passed that mark in its second week of retail existence and should be kicking down the door of platinum status in the coming weeks. Even with plans in motion to start his second album (and while raving about Trey Songz’s new album), he’s still making sure TML is in rotation for at least the rest of the summer. - Karen Civil

New Video: Affion Crockett Spoofs Drake’s Westwood Freestyle

I've been lowkey boycotting Affion Crockett ever since he released that coonery filled hot mess of a video called, "Eat That Watermelon" feat. Nick Canon sometime last year... But after watching him spoof this Time Westwood freestyle, he has redeemed himself...This video is hilarious... Watch it below...

♫ New Music: Paris Morton Music by Drake

Drake dropped his version of Rick Ross’ “Aston Martin Music” and titled it "Paris Morton Music". The track features some unreleased verses that may have been originally intended for his album, Thank Me Later (or Ross' Teflon Don). So who is Paris Morton? A drop gorgeous model out of Atlanta, GA. I don't know her story, but whoever this hot mama is, I hope she's planning on using her pretty face and riding this limelight. Someone tell Paris to get herself a publicist and start making rounds... I am sure we will be hearing something from Paris really soon. Listen and download here.

In Case You Missed Drake's "Better Than Good Enough" Documentary

In know a lot of people hate on Drake, because of his shine or his affiliations, but I can't be mad at him. He has a hustle and I respect it. And this documentary made me respect him more... He talks about his fears, his motivation, his drive, his road manager/best friend/producers terminal illness... Its very raw, very real, and pulled at the heart strings... #respect. Drake Covers J. Dilla & Sells More Albums Than Jigga

Last night (June 22nd) Drake payed homage to one of hip hops late soldiers, J.Dilla. Drake was performing at the Microsoft’s Bing Event in Hollywood, and in the middle of doing his song “Show Me A Good Time”, he transition to J.Dilla’s verse from Slum Village’s “Climax”... Oh! & the record sales are in, Drake's "Thank Me Later" sold 492,989 albums in his first week. I know a lot of people hate on the kid, but I know artists who would kill for those kinda numbers. If each cd cost $10, he makes $5 off of every cd... And if I'm doing the math right he made close to $2.5 million (in a week). D-mn!
“Out in L.A. blowing clouds to the killer/ I came up in the underground though/ so I’ma spend another ten thousand for Dilla“

It's June 15th! All Drake Everything!

Today is June 15th, the release of Drake's second album Thank Me Later. I know it leaked onto the internet last week, but I'm sure it won't affect his numbers. One thing is sure, this is one day he'll never forget. Check out pieces of his interview that he did with Paper Mag on how he got "discovered", Degrassi/women, and speaks on his verse about Rihanna... Go cop that album!

"Jay-Z coming to Toronto meant every single person was going to be there, which meant the majority of the people in my life were there, and there was a big rumor around the city: Is Drake close enough to Jay where he would bring me out? And people were like, 'No, it would never happen.'"..... Well, it did happen. Not only did Jay-Z bring Drake out to perform on stage with him, he got to perform "Successful," in its entirety. "I'll never forget that. I must have looked in the eyes of 40 people I know in the first 20 rows," Drake says, "There were ex-girlfriends, guys who hated me, people who loved me, my mother -- and it was just like, 'This is it.'"

"Degrassi was some wild times," says Drake, "but things have gotten to the point where I can create my own pandemonium... it's a little more exciting now because it's like beautiful, grown women. Women I'd actually want to date..... I don't take my shirt off, I don't pride myself on the physical conditioning aspect of it," Drake says. "But I get on stage and I start singing the words to a song, and they do throw bras and panties. They do cry and faint, and I truly believe it has a lot do with my music."
Dream Date
“I addressed it on my album. It’s not a broken heart, it’s just for me, I’m in such a confident position that I’m almost numb to feeling small. It’s been so long since a woman has made me feel small and that’s a real emotion. When you want to be a part of a woman’s life and you are nervous, all of these things that maybe I was when I was 15 or 16,, it’s just been a while since I felt like that. I really looked at it as paying homage to her for giving me that feeling. I just respect her for bringing that feeling back for me because it was real. It was a real emotion.

OD: Rihanna Broke Drake's Heart

OverDose (Open Discussion): On Drake's album, Thank Me Later, there is a song called “Fireworks”, and on it there's a verse about Rihanna. If you didn't know Drake and Rihanna had a little post-Chris Brown hoo-rah last year when she asked Drake to write a song for her new album. The song never hit her album, but I doubt it was intended to. The two soon began seeing each other regularly, though they never publicly confirmed their brief relationship. I was a little surprised at the fact that Drake actually spoke on it amidst his interview with the New York Times, but everything is fair game with this cat...
“I could tell it wasn’t love, I just thought you’d fuck with me/ Who could’ve predicted Lucky Strike would have you stuck with me, damn/ I kept my wits about me luckily, what happened between us that night, it always seems to trouble me/ Now all of a sudden these gossip rags wanna cover me, and you makin’ it seem like it happened that way because of me/ But I was curious, and I’ll never forget it baby, what an experience/ You could’ve been the one, but it wasn’t that serious.”Fireworks by Drake ft. Alicia Keys [Download Here]
“I was a pawn,” Drake said. The song he wrote for her never got released. “You know what she was doing to me? She was doing exactly what I’ve done to so many women throughout my life, which is show them quality time, then disappear,” he said. “I was like, wow, this feels terrible.”
I know I'm guilty of this... But at times like these I remember the cliche, all is fair in love and war; in this battle, Drake was a casualty.

Lil Wayne Freestyles From Rikers

Lil Wayne has got to be the most active inmate ever! From behind bars Weezy is calling in to UStream sessions and freestyling. Of course the verse was pre-recorded (i.e. Tuesday night), but according to Drake, its' "one of the most incredible Lil Wayne verses he's ever heard." Drake went on to say,
"I went up to Rikers, and me and Wayne agreed that there will be a Lil Wayne/Drake album... [This project] will probably be one of the most exciting things in my life, because we make music on a different level.”
Check out how Weezy kills it on a freestyle over Drake’s “Light Up”, off of his leaked up-coming album Thank Me Later.

J. Holiday Takes Shots At Drake

I started laughing when I heard of this... I guess folks are just taking shots at people to get a little attention thrown their way. J. Holiday, yeah, 'put you to bed' J. Holiday, is taking shots at Drake via twitter...

Here's what I'm going to need Mr. Holiday to do... First realize that he was a one (maybe two) hit wonder. Second, write Drake an apology tweet and pay him to show up at a studio session and help you. (I've heard some of his new stuff, its not so hot.) Thirdly, take your own advice. Next time you need to "express yourself" about someone, make sure you have the records/hits/career to back it up.

Thank Me Later Leaked Last Night..

Drake's highly anticipated album Thank Me Later leaked last night... somehow it found its way to my inbox, and I must say I am NOT mad June 15th came early. I pride myself on being a really hard music critic, but after hours of listening the the album from start to finish any doubt of Drake not deserving to be in this industry went out the window. The project is legit. He came with it. Dimplez favorites off the album: Fireworks, The Resistance, Kareoke, Unforgettable and Fancy. I refuse to post the leakage link here but if you're desperate Google is your friend... Check out Drake's response on the leak....

In Case You Missed Drake Before He Was Famous

Ever wonder what some rappers were like before the deal, before they got famous? Well, MTV had that question about Drake, and took a little journey into the dude's past. I think it's dope to see Drake from his afro/Jimmy days, crushing on Meagan Good, and performing in a group with Melanie Fiona (another Canadian superstar). Check it out... P.S. Drake has to have the most adoreable childhood photos. I lowkey want to time travel and throw some mud in his face just to mess the shot up. LOL..
