♫ New Music: Hot Toddy by Usher ft. Jay-Z

When I first heard the name of this song I thought it was a joke gone wrong, but it serious is the name of the song. The song was produced by Polow Da Don, penned by Ester Dean, and I must admit, is catchy. It'll take a little while to fully grow on me, but I'm loving it thus far. This is one of the few songs of of Usher's upcoming album, "Versus". Ciara is featured on the album version of this song, but being that this is a radio rip, no Ci-Ci here. Listen & download "Hot Toddy" here.

♫ New Music: Repercussions by Lauryn Hill // Nicki Minaj Comparisons

I am beyond excited in writing this post... New music from the iconic Lauryn Hill. I don't know whether its an unreleased song that leaked or is off of her upcoming project, but its something I've never heard and I'm loving it. I can't wait to see her at the Rock The Bells Tour.. Listen & download Lauryn Hill's “Repercussions”here

Sometime last week, Murder Inc's Irv Gotti sat down with VIBE and told them that Nicki Minaj was like a modern day Lauryn Hill...
"The world has yet to see the best of Nicki Minaj. What she’s delivering to the world now is basically what they want. But I know that she’s a super talented superstar who can do anything at a high level—rap, sing, act, whatever she wants to do. This is just the beginning of Nicki Minaj. Her best is yet to come. In my opinion she is as talented as my other girl Lauryn Hill. They have completely different styles. But as far as the talent is concerned they both can do it all. Nicki just isn’t showing it yet ’cause she doesn’t want to. But world be prepared ’cause she’s the truth!"
STOP. Someone should slap Irv for such ludicrous statements. There will never another Lauryn Hill... & I've heard the "real" Nicki Minaj, pre-barbie, pre-surgery, pre-autotune//dramatics... and she was cool, but no Lauryn. Check out the "real" Nicki below...

♫ New Music: Gamez by Bei Maejor ft. Keri Hilson

Bei Maejor just released a love song that samples one of my favorite video games, the only game I know how to play, Super Mario Brothers. The song, "Gamez", features Keri Hilson, and is off of his upcoming mixtape uʍop ǝpısdn (Upside Down); which is hosted by Clinton Sparks. I can't wait to hear the whole project, Bei has SKILLS. Listen & download "Gamez" here.

♫ New Music: Growing Apart by Kendrick Lamar ft. Jhene Aiko

Apparently I've been sleeping on this hot new artist called Kendrick Lamar... It took just one listen to this song, and maybe it was Jhene's melodic hooks that swooped me away but this song is definitely worth the download. The track is produced by Tae Beast, and is a short story about how you can fall in love then grow apart. You may remember Jhene, she's the same femme who took me by surprise off of Drake's "July"... Kendrick's album drops sometime this year. Listen & download "Grow Apart" here.

♫ New Music: Just The Way You Are by Bruno Mars

Bruno Mars has always been hit or miss with me; I'm calling this one a hit. I don't think I've gotten giddy over a song he's made since, "Nothing On You" & "Billionaire"... This song, "Just The Way You Are", was produced by the Smeezingtons, and you won't be disappointed.
“You can expect that we’re gonna put our balls into it... Luckily, I feel like everything that we’ve been working for and everything we’ve learned in the past couple years has really enhanced our production and our writing.” - Bruno Mars via Rap Up

♫ New Music: Do It All by Drake

The first single off of Drake's upcoming mixtape, "No More Thank Yous", dropped today. The song is called, “Do It All.” The song goes hard. Take a listen and download here.
The mixtape ["No More Thank Yous"] features a new tracked produced by Polow Da Don titled “To The Floor” featuring RichBoy & Lloyd. Two gold albums, and one is well on its way to platinum status, are the type of stats that ATF frontman Drake is boasting at the current moment. The EP of his uber-successful mixtape So Far Gone recently reached eclipsed the 500,000 sold plateau this week. Thank Me Later passed that mark in its second week of retail existence and should be kicking down the door of platinum status in the coming weeks. Even with plans in motion to start his second album (and while raving about Trey Songz’s new album), he’s still making sure TML is in rotation for at least the rest of the summer. - Karen Civil

New Video: Beautiful Monster & Champagne Life by Ne-Yo

Ne-Yo just dropped two music visuals for his upcoming album "Libra Scale". Both are lowkey epic cinematic kind of ordeals. Its like 2 mini-movies. Although I'm not a big fan of the song “Beautiful Monster”, the video made me like it. Word to Timbaland for scaring me (around the 30 second mark). Check out the videos below...

♫ New Music: Fancy (FREESTYLE) by Dondria

So So Def Artist, Dondria, decided to freestyle to, that song Drake & Swizz Beatz made about me, "Fancy". She's been catching some shade off of this freestyle, saying she was channeling too much of her inner Mary J. Blige or whatever... I think she killed it. Its hard to be a female in the industry because you automatically get compared to Beyonce... Anyway, I'm gonna let you be the judge, is this 'freestyle' a HIT or MISS? Listen and download here.

♫ New Music: Bottoms Up by Trey Songs ft. Nicki Minaj

Trey Songz and Nicki Minaj collaborated on a song off of Trey's upcoming album, Pain & Pleasure. The song hit the internet yesterday, but I was too busy bumpin' Rick Ross' leaked album (review coming soon), I almost forgot to listen to the song. No lie, I haven't really been checking for Trey after his disappoint 2 second Prince Tribute (*insert side eye here*). The song is descent. Nicki kinda threw me for a loop shouting out Anna Nicole Smith... Hopefully Trey's album (Pain & Pleasure, in stores Sept. 14th) won't be as painful as his BET Awards performance.
“Rest in peace to Anna Nicole Smith/ Yes my dear, you’re so explosive/ Say hi to Mary Mary and Joseph.”

♫ New Music: Paris Morton Music by Drake

Drake dropped his version of Rick Ross’ “Aston Martin Music” and titled it "Paris Morton Music". The track features some unreleased verses that may have been originally intended for his album, Thank Me Later (or Ross' Teflon Don). So who is Paris Morton? A drop gorgeous model out of Atlanta, GA. I don't know her story, but whoever this hot mama is, I hope she's planning on using her pretty face and riding this limelight. Someone tell Paris to get herself a publicist and start making rounds... I am sure we will be hearing something from Paris really soon. Listen and download here.

♫ New Music: Free Mason by Rick Ross & Jay-Z

Rick Ross and Jay-Z made a song called "Free Mason" and is off of Rick Ross' forthcoming album Teflon Don. The track was produced by the InKredibles, but when I heard the title it was an auto turn-off; here I was barely forgetting Jay'z on-to-the-next-one-illuminati-steez, and he makes this. *smh.... But after listening to the track I see he does do a bit to distance himself from the title.... but is it enough?
“I said I was amazing, not that I’m a mason........ I’m on my third six, but a devil I’m not.” - Jay-Z
Listen to the track and download here. Is this track a hit or miss?

...she locks herself in a lab with producer Warren "Oak" Felder and creates a song that could resurrect her almost non-existent career. This song is a hit, and it is off of her upcoming EP Sincerely Yours, which drops August 17th. Take a listen and download here.

♫ New Music: Gimme Dat by Ciara

Written by Jlont@e for MissDimplez.com

Sexy songstress Ciara is ready to release her new album 'Basic Instinct' on August 17th and the official 2nd single has been released. The song titled 'Gimme Dat' is an up beat joint that is definitely meant for the clubs, Ciara wants the world to know she is back up in the clubs where she belongs.

♫ New Music: You Ain't Got It (Funk That) by Nina Sky

Last time I heard about Nina Sky they were duking it out with their no-good record label, who wasn't backing them like they should. I'm glad they didn't let 'the man' hold them down and have still been recording music. Check out their new song "You Ain't Got It (Funk That)" off of their forthcoming EP "The Otherside".
Here's "You Ain't Got It" a new track we collaborated on w/ DJ Yonny from our upcoming EP The Otherside which drops this Summer!! We sampled one of our favorite dance joints from the 90's, "Funk That" by Sagat and flipped it w/ some Na**Sky melodies. -- Nina Sky

♫ New Music: Teqkilla REMIX by M.I.A. feat. Nicki Minaj

Over the weekend Nicki Minaj remixed M.I.A's "Teqkilla". M.I.A. always has the most out-of-the-box beats, and this beat in particular took a while to grow on me. One thing I love about M.I.A. is that she will throw shade at anyone at anytime. Listen and download the song here, and check out two of my favorite shaded moments below...

“People say we’re [her & Lady Gaga] similar, that we both mix all these things in the pot and spit them out differently, but she spits it out exactly the same! None of her music’s reflective of how weird she wants to be or thinks she is. She models herself on Grace Jones and Madonna, but the music sounds like 20-year-old Ibiza music, you know? She’s not progressive, but she’s a good mimic.”
“I find the new Justin Bieber video more violent and more of an assault to my eyes and senses than what I’ve made.”
Someone once told me that 'they' can only throw shade if you're shining.... *think about it*

♫ New Music: Erase Me by Kid Cudi ft. Kanye West

Kid Cudi is going HAM in the rocker scene... Cudi and Kanye West recently collaborated on a new track "Erase Me", which is set to be on Cudi's sophomore album, Man On The Moon II: The Legend of Mr. Rager. His cd is set to drop on September 14th, along with Kanye's new album, and Big Sean's album. I guess it will be a G.O.O.D. Music Day.
Take a listen to the cut, and download it here.

In other Kanye related news... Nicki Minaj is featured on his forthcoming album. I stan for this man (Kanye), so if Nicki is on a track, I'm sure it won't be as atrocious as her performance at the BET Awards... Also, check out the visual for Kanye's single "Power", which is now available on iTunes. The artwork is about Ye' being crowned and stabbed, graphic, but there's a message behind it. Word to the illustrator, George Condo.

♫ New Music: Champions by Ron Artest

I think y'all thought he was joking when he said in his post game interview that he was dropping a single... well, Artest doesn't joke. Well I hope the song isn't a joke...... It's not that bad... the beginning is a little rusty, but towards the end, I wasn't disgusted.

Dr. Dre Speaks On 'Under Pressure' Leak

For the Dr. Dre stans out there, you know we've been waiting on something from his upcoming album Detox for six-years. So it did not surprise me when a track, "Under Pressure", leaked onto the internet yesterday. The song features Jay-Z and was produced by Scott Storch. The leak is not the final version of the song, its missing some things and only clocks in about 2 mins and 30 seconds. Check out what Dre had to say about the leak...
“I want to set the record straight for everybody who’s been waiting to hear my music,” wrote the super-producer. “The song that’s on the Internet is an incomplete song that I’m still working on. When it’s ready, you’ll be hearing it from me.”
Here's how I feel about leaks... I feel they are intentional, if not from the artist, but from the artists camp to gage a response of the fans. Some situations can't be controlled, but in this situation, I'm sure it was some lab techie thinking he's helping. I'm majorly disappointed in the leak, it sounded like a Black Eyed Peas could have made, which is so un-Dre... Lets hope the final version is up to his normal epic standards.
